Welcome to Spatial Multibody Dynamics

Dear Visitors,

Welcome to Spatial Multibody Dynamics. In the context of the development in this blog, spatial multibody dynamics is taken as the three-dimensional representation of articulating structures that may be over constrained and have any number of internal degrees of freedom.

Over the next months and years I plan to provide a complete matrix-based development of three-dimensional spatial kinematics and multibody dynamics. The material will provide sufficient detail in theoretical and algorithmic form, so that anyone with some background in dynamics, numerical and matrix methods, and C-programming will be able to develop their own computer programs.

This blogging environment allows various types of files such as Powerpoint presentations and pdf  to be included within posts. This capability is important, because we will be working with many equations, symbols, images, and computer algorithms that would be extremely difficult to organize and present clearly within Blogger's simple editor. The procedures to incorporate these files are not directly supported by Blogger, so I will provide step-by-step instructions for doing this in a later post.

I'm new to the blogging environment, and I'm sure there will be a few growing pains as I learn the ropes. So please bear with me.

I hope you will join me in this coming adventure, and I look forward to your participation.

Thank you,

Roger Wehage
